Senjogahara in the Nikko National Park is one of the nation’s most renowned marshland areas.
You can enjoy a variety of nature trails, 350 kinds of wild plants, and many species of wild birds. The trails offer magnificent views of the marshland with Mt. Nantai in the background, and an array of natural panoramas. The neighbouring Odashirogahara consists of unique grass and marshlands. The famous Japanese white birch tree known as “the lady of Odashirogahara” can be found here.
Oku-Nikko Night Hiking
3This is a tour to fully take in the charms of nature at night while being guided around inside Nikko National Park. You will be able to see creatures that can only be seen at night and experience the magnificence of the nature under a night sky that extends out in the clear air. Please enjoy the nature of Nikko that is different to that during the day.

Nikko is home to 3 of the 5 ice houses or “Himuro” that currently exist in all of Japan.
(“Hi” means “ice”,”muro” means “room”.)
The other ice houses are found in Chichibu and Karuizawa.
Nikko’s natural water is frozen for 2 weeks and preserved in an ice room year round.
The shaved ice is soft and won’t give you a headache even if you eat it quickly!
Each shop in Nikko has its own shaved ice specialty.
Try ujikintoki with maccha (powdered green tea),syrup and bean jam on top.
Maybe strawberry or melon syrup is more your style? Why not try them all!

White Water Rafting

Jump in a rubber boat and work together with your fellow rafters to navigate the white water. Experience the natural surroundings in a way unknown to drivers or walkers.
